Innovation Manager (all genders)

Innovation is a key ingredient to UBIMET's success story and a vital part of the company’s strategy. 25% of UBIMET’s revenues are reinvested in research & development. Consequently, the R&D department plays a crucial role in consistently providing, developing, and enhancing UBIMET’s proprietary weather models, algorithms, tools, and AI frameworks. To make sure that these innovations, which go beyond current State-of-the-Art, find their way into UBIMET products, we apply them in several nationally or internationally funded projects.

Our innovation management is responsible for the whole innovation process. This starts with the identification of suitable research grants, the preparation of project applications, all the way through to the management and monitoring of project progress. Internally, Innovation Management acts as the interface between different UBIMET departments/business units to deliver optimal project results. Externally, it is expected to represent UBIMET at various funding agencies, research partners and ministries, establishing a robust network of partners throughout Europe.

Some of the things you'll work on:

• Acquiring Grants: Identifying and proactively pursuing research projects by actively searching for grants, staying informed about market trends, and translating them into relevant projects for UBIMET. This includes forming consortia, writing project proposals, and securing funding.
• Managing Granted Projects: Overseeing the implementation and completion of funded projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones, and budget planning. This involves active project management, attending meetings, and preparing interim and final reports.

• Networking and Communication Expansion: Building a robust network and actively participating in events and conferences to foster collaborations and stay informed about industry developments. Communication and networking with national and international funding agencies, ministries and project partners all across Europe.

We are seeking dynamic and success-oriented individuals with the following qualifications:

• Completed academic degree with excellent success in business sciences and/or natural sciences (preferably meteorology, physics, mathematics, scientific computing, or a related field).
• Excellent project management skills.
• Experience with grants and subsidies is desired
• Enjoy writing proposals
• A structured and solution-oriented working style with strong conceptual and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Excellent proficiency in both English and German.

For legal reasons, we would like to point out that the minimum salary for this position is EUR 45.000,- gross per year. Significant overpayment is possible, depending on qualifications and experience.
